Roger Federer jumps to defence of Arsenal legend Henry

Tennis ace Roger Federer has jumped to the defence of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry over his hand-ball.

Along with Tiger Woods and Henry, Fed Express forms sport’s holy trinity promoting shaving giant Gillette in a multi-million dollar contract.

Gillette have announced they are to stand by Henry, despite his cheat shame which robbed the Republic of Ireland in Paris on Wednesday night, and Federer said the fault lay with football’s refusal to embrace new technology.

He said: “I don’t condone what happened, and I don’t think it’s appropriate, but it happened in a split-second and ultimately it was the referee’s decision. You can’t blame him (Henry) for playing on - it’s the fault of the system.”

Federer, who hates the Hawkeye gadget which settles contentious line calls in tennis, added: “It goes to show football needs Hawkeye more than tennis.”

How does it make Federer a cheater if he's just backing his friend? and he did not approve of what Henry did either... just like what Nadal said to back Richard Gasquet for testing positive in cocaine (although he claimed that he picked it up by kissing a girl in the club... but who knows?)... Does it mean that Nadal is using cocaine as well? They all back them up just because they're friends... Anyway imo, Henry should stop the play or kick the ball out... but everything happened in split seconds and the ref did not do anything about it... so Henry, the ref and the linesmen are all at fault...

I signed up with these guys – http://www.statesidetv.net
Best games are shown on Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta - got fed up with the lack of decent quality P2P streams that were 'here today and gone tomorrow'. I can also watch 3PM Saturday afternoon Premier League games not shown in the UK. I have a SlingCatcher, so I can watch the stream on my 37"LCD TV at a very watchable resolution. Keeps the wife and son quiet too, she gets all her Lost and Desperate Housewives long before they are shown here and he gets all his MLB and NFL games. Saves me forking out for an ESPN/NASN subscription!
