Riise: Roma winner against Juventus most important goal of career

Roma hero John Arne Riise says his winner against Juventus was the most important goal he's ever scored.

Roma hero John Arne Riise says his winner against Juventus was the most important goal he's ever scored.

The former Liverpool star's effort helped Roma go five points clear of Juve in the battle for a Champions League place.

"It was very important for me and for Roma. In the last five minutes I played as a striker, scored and I am very happy,” said the defender.

The 2-1 victory away to Juventus has put them five points clear of the Bianconeri and closing down on the leaders.

“We are third and want to continue like this. I always look at what’s in front, not over my shoulder.

“The first priority is a top four finish, which is crucial to enter the Champions League next season.

“I want to win something at Roma, but the Scudetto this year would be very difficult. I want to win the Europa League, though.”
