Following his retirement from the game as a player, Dean Windass is keen to step straight into management.
The League Two outfit sacked manager Mike Newell due to their vulnerable position on the table (second bottom) this week and Windass has already expressed his desire to take over.
The 40-year old was assistant manager at Darlington earlier this season but he and boss Colin Todd were sacked last month.
Windass, the former Hull City striker, has also had managerial experience when he helped take over at Bradford City in 2003.

Windass should save the cost of a stamp.
There is no way Windass should be considered for the job. No experience and a huge ego isnt something GTFC needs right now
