Asamoah Gyan has become Sunderland’s record signing, joining the club from Rennes.
The 24-year old striker, who starred for Ghana at the World Cup, has penned a four-year deal with the Black Cats which is believed to be worth around £13million.
The fee beats the £10million the club spent on Darren Bent last year and is a major coup for Steve Bruce who had been locked in talks for most of the transfer deadline day to capture his man.
