Real Madrid ready to rescue Adebayor from Man City

Real Madrid are ready to pounce for unsettled Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

Real Madrid are ready to pounce for unsettled Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

After several rounds of discussions, Real president Florentino Perez has agreed to meet coach Jose Mourinho's request for a new striker signing in January.

Adebayor is a favourite of both Mourinho and Florentino - and they will be aware of yesterday's press revelations of a furious row between the Togo star and City manager Roberto Mancini.

Florentino hopes to land Adebayor on the 'cheap' and will seek to strike terms in the £16 million range during the winter transfer window.
