Premiership managers rate Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor as the signing of the season.
Barclays, sponsor of the Premier League and title sponsor of the League Managers' Association, asked the 20 men in charge their thoughts and predictions for the current season.
And City's £25million ace Adebayor was picked by 30 per cent as the signing of the season, ahead of Sunderland's Darren Bent on 20 per cent.
Adebayor's Eastlands team-mate Gareth Barry polled 15 per cent, with Liverpool's Glen Johnson getting 10 per cent.
When asked which English prospect would make the biggest impact this season, a resounding 66 per cent chose Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell, 18.

Revisit this issue at the end of the season and I assure you, Adebayor will be nowhere to be seen! I am amazed that Vermaelen is not even mentioned - his impact has been unquestionable and in so many ways.
I'm an Arsenal fan,but what I'm going to say is not going to be based on my hatred on Adebayor or anything..For me and I believe many fans and managers will agree, the best signing this season is Vermaelen..not because he's a Gunner, but because of the impact he brought to the game..He combined superbly with Gallas who was blamed last season for his poor performances due to his fight with Toure..They formed a solid defence in which the defence was always the main problem for Arsenal in previous seasons..He also had scored 5 goals already this season and even scored for his country in recent matches..He was brought for just 10 million, which was a bargain price..Adebayor was not the worst signing eventho we'd agree that his attitude is terrible on and off the pitch..He was on fire early this season, but after his suspension,he became like Robinho, early fire but he watered out after a while..he's only in the news because of his comments on his stamp on Van Persie and his outrageous goal celebration..Glen Johnson is quite a good signing considering how low was the expectations from the fans and Aquilani seemed quite a promising player himself eventho he's just playing for the reserves for a while after recoring from his injury..Also take note on the signing of Owen and Valencia..Owen is currently recovering his past abilities and started scoring for Man.U,and considerably he had scored more than Berbatov..While altho Valencia could not fill the void left by C.R,but he's filling his position nicely and offered something different for Man.U..
