Premier League planning Champions League playoff system

The Premier League is considering a play-off system for the final Champions League place, it has been revealed.
The Times says the Premier League is believed to be considering an end-of- season play-off system to establish the fourth club to qualify for the next season’s Champions League.
Seen as a way of breaking the European “monopoly” of the so-called big four, the idea would involve a play-off between the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh-placed clubs.
