Portsmouth unhappy with disallowed goal in Everton loss

Portsmouth manager Avram Grant admitted he was disappointed after having another refereeing decision go against his team.

Portsmouth manager Avram Grant admitted he was disappointed after having another refereeing decision go against his team.

Pompey appeared to have scored against Everton when Anthony Vanden Borre netted just prior to the hour-mark but he was incorrectly ruled offside and the goal was disallowed.

Everton managed a last-minute winner through Diniyar Bilyaletdinov to crush Pompey’s spirit, leaving Grant to rue another poor decision against his club who could not take trick this season.

“It is disappointing but typical,” Grant said.

"Again we scored a goal - I don't know why the decision was a disallowed goal because there were two players on the line.

"It is not the first time this has happened.

"We defended well, had some good attacks and scored a goal, so we deserved to win.

"They scored a fantastic goal in the last moment but it was a good performance.

"I didn't say anything because it was the last game - but it is not the first time it has happened to us,” he added.

"I don't understand what happened, maybe the linesman slipped a bit.

"There was no reason not to give it."
