Portsmouth fans urge Storrie to leave

Portsmouth fans have called on chief executive Peter Storrie to leave the club.

Storrie wasn't among the 85 staff that lost their jobs yesterday, though he has taken a significant pay-cut to carry on.

SOS Pompey, a supporters' action group, has called on Storrie to do the decent thing and walk away, says The Times.

"It leaves a very sour taste in the mouths of many fans that the only director to lose his position with the club was working for nothing," a statement from the group read.

"Peter Storrie recently told us that if the fans wanted him to leave he would do so. A variety of polls on several forums and local radio demonstrated that the majority of fans did indeed want him to go.

"Storrie has often cited the owners as being responsible for broken promises. This is one promise Mr Storrie can keep regardless of any owner. We ask him to resign immediately and donate any severance pay he receives to the workers who have lost their jobs today."
