Portsmouth facing new financial worries over Premier League payments

Portsmouth are facing new financial doubts.

The Mail on Sunday says Portsmouth's bid to end their financial crisis is being hampered by a row between the Premier League and the mysterious company who were the club's last owners before administration.

A deal is in place for the club to receive an accelerated payment of £6million from television revenue and to sell players outside the transfer window to keep them going until the end of the season.

But Portpin, the British Virgin Islands company controlled by Balram Chainrai and his associates, are refusing to give up their claim to the TV money.
