Portsmouth coach Paul Groves admits they're bracing themselves for some big player departures.

While several players are on loan and will return to their parent clubs, there are plenty of others who are out of contract and will not be offered fresh terms. But perhaps more of a concern is that players the management would love to retain for next season's Championship campaign will be sold to bring in some much-needed revenue.

Groves told The News: "I'm sure the club will lose players they don't want to lose.

"The club will get offers for good quality players who have done well for this football club this season. But because of the finances of the club, that will dictate what will happen.

"It's something we don't have any control of and it's something we will have to accept I'm afraid."
