Portsmouth boss Hart: Distin has asked away

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart has confirmed Sylvain Distin has asked to leave the club.

With Everton and Aston Villa moving for the Frenchman, Hart revealed the defender had asked away.

Hart said: ''We had a conversation, he's expressed that desire to leave. He's a great player, a great fella and a wonderful captain."

Distin missed the 4-1 win over Hereford in the Carling Cup with a foot injury.
