Portsmouth boss Grant denies Boateng has gone AWOL

Portsmouth boss Avram Grant has denied reports Kevin-Prince Boateng has gone AWOL.

Boateng has decided to return to Germany to do his rehab after suffering an ankle injury.

Grant told The News: "Kevin Prince Boateng has been missing for a long time and he has shown that he has been one of our best players.

"But we have had 14 players this season and still won games. We have shown good spirit. He's injured and it's bad. He will not be fit for the next weeks.

"We hope he will soon be better because he has had a great season. We miss him. He is in Germany and receiving treatment three times a day.

"It's not true that he is missing."
