Portsmouth boss Grant: Chelsea skipper Terry will remain England leader

Portsmouth boss Avram Grant believes Chelsea captain John Terry will remain a leader inside the England dressing room.

Terry missed the penalty against United that cost Chelsea the 2008 Champions League in Moscow and, ultimately, Grant his job.

But Pompey's embattled boss prefers to remember the man who galvanised the Stamford Bridge dressing room for him, following Jose Mourinho's departure, in a way that marked him out as a leader of his club and, until Friday, his country as well.

"He will still be a leader because that's what he is," said Grant. "Sometimes you don't need the armband to lead a team."

Its so true what avam grant said . Terry has and awlways will be the england captain. arm band or no arm band. he is the glue that has been holdig the team together. as for giving ferdinand the job. thats just ridicolous. he is just not the propper leading type. now if capello had given the job to gerrad then not many people would have gotten angry. he is a person who can fill the shoes of the chelsea skipper perfectly. he may even lead england to a decent win in the world cup. rio is just not up to the task. poor choice capello. make stevie g the captain. or bring terry back.
