Pirlo admits doubts over AC Milan coach Leonardo

Andrea Pirlo admits he had concerns about the appointment of Leonardo as AC Milan coach.

“Last season, when the rumours were flying around about him taking over, we were a little sceptical,” confessed Pirlo on Sky Sport Italia.

“He had never been a Coach and it seemed strange for a director to take this role. However, after seeing him slowly settle into this new position, things have gone well.

“He has such hunger and you can see how much he cares about this new experience. It is a great opportunity and he doesn’t want it to slip away.

“Leonardo is very attentive to every detail and puts himself into his work. We are trying to help him as best we can to achieve success.”
