Philadelphia Union’s Torres honoured after watching Colombia

Philadelphia Union teenager Roger Torres admitted he was very proud to watch his native Colombia take on the USA on Tuesday night.

Torres was with coach Peter Nowak and teammate Danny Califf at PPL Park to watch the scoreless draw and admitted it was an honour to see his countrymen in action.

“I’m really happy to have the team come all the way here,” Torres said. “Seeing them play here and playing very well, I’m really happy to have that honor.

“I think that the coaching is very good and they’re very respectable people and the team that they have put on the field is a very solid team technically.”

And Torres added that he would one day love to get the chance to represent his nation at international level.

“I would love to be on the team. It’s every player’s dream,” he added.
