Perth Glory suffer humiliation at Mariners hands

Perth Glory have been humiliated 5-0 by Central Coast Mariners in an inglorious night for the club.

Mariners were inspired by former Celtic starlet Michael McGlinchley as goals from Rostyn Griffiths, Matt Simon, Adam Kwasnik, Matthew Lewis and an own goal by Naum Sekulovski made up the rout.

By the conclusion, Glory, who for many were favourites for the championship at the start of the season were a rabble, summed up by Sekulovski's own goal.

What may infuriate Glory fans watching at home in Perth were the smiles on the faces of some of the players at the final whistle.

"We've got to dig ourselves out of this," said Glory defender Jamie Coyne. "It's not time to panic, but this is obviously very disappointing.

"We can only rely on ourselves to get out of this."
