Ideally he would have liked to have seen out his contract with NQFC, but said it was 'just how football goes' while conceding he had a great opportunity at the Glory.

''When I signed for the Central Coast and I spoke to the gaffer about that – I sort of knew he was going to have start looking for other players and he said that himself,'' McBreen told the Townsville Bulletin.

''Before the Newcastle game he pulled me (aside) and said, 'I have to look to the future and I am going to look at Dyron (Daal) and (Jeremy) Brockie and David Williams'.

''So I knew straight away that my time was going to be limited - I was quite happy to keep playing my bit part, but this came up and they obviously wanted a Perth player.''
