Ali Karimi has had his contract renewal at Persepolis turned down.
The 30-year old former Iran international is currently a free agent after his one-year contract with the Piroozi expired at the end of the season.
The club turned down an offer made by Karimi who was disappointed with the result but still holds hope.
“The club kept me waiting for four weeks for nothing. Now, I will leave it to the fans to make the right judgment,” Karimi, a former AFC Player of the Year, said.
“This club belongs to players like Ahmad Reza Abedzadeh, Karim Bagheri, Mehdi Mahdavikia…who played their part in its history.
“Persepolis is my first and last home. I am confident that I can come back to Persepolis to hang my boots.”
