Pellegrini expects to remain as Real Madrid coach

Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini insists he has heard nothing from the club to suggest he will not be in charge next season.

Pellegrini was only brought in last summer but his position has come under intense scrutiny with the possibility of Madrid ending the season without any silverware, with Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho being heavily linked as a possible replacement.

However, when quizzed about his future following last night's match, the Chilean said: "I don't know, you'll need to ask the board.

"I have a year left on my contract and nobody has spoken to me about not continuing next year.

"I'm very happy to have had such a good season and I don't see any reason not to continue."
