Palermo are delighted with their deal for former Genoa goalkeeper Rubinho.

The Brazilian arrives in Sicily in a swap for Palermo keeper Marco Amelia.

“Who is better between Rubinho and Amelia? Definitely Rubinho,” smiled Vice-President Guglielmo Miccichè.

“He has a great future ahead of him and I think that with him Palermo have made one of the best buys of the season.

“Marco has a tricky personality, as he said he wanted to join Roma, but there were never any arguments with [President Maurizio] Zamparini.

“The negotiations started on Thursday morning and that evening we were already happy to conclude it.”
