Peter Odemwingie is delighted to be playing as a striker for West Bromwich Albion.

Odemwingie scored on his debut against Sunderland before following that up with goals against Blues and Arsenal.

“I feel I can bring better results playing up top because I can score goals when I’m closer to the goal,” the Nigerian told the Birmingham Mail.

“I’m happier up front and that’s where I like to play but I’m ready to play where the manager wants. Sometimes I might need to adapt my role in the team and I’m happy to do that.

“My manager in France (at Lille) transformed me into that kind of striker so I have a lot to be grateful to him for.

“One against one, finishing, all the things a striker needs – I’ve tried to learn and improve and I feel I am a better player for it now.

“I feel this is where I can do my best job as a footballer for myself and for the team.

“We have a big game against Manchester United on Saturday. I am looking forward to that.”
