Novellino: Totti blocked me from coaching Roma

Walter Novellino says his application for the AS Roma job was blocked by Francesco Totti.

The former Sampdoria, Napoli and Torino boss made the revelation during an interview with Radio Marte.

“I could never be the Coach of Roma, as Totti doesn’t like me,” said the tactician.

“A few years ago, when I was considered one of the best Italian managers, I was meant to join the Giallorossi.

“In the end they signed Luciano Spalletti. It seems to me that Totti made the decision, therefore he doesn’t like me.

“I wish all the best to Claudio Ranieri, as it’s not easy for him. The difficulties at the club are making an impact and he is on his own.”
