Notts County’s Rodgers on verge of New York Red Bull deal

Notts County striker Luke Rodgers is reportedly on the verge of finally joining New York Red Bull.

The Daily Mirror suggests the 28-year old, who played under current Red Bull coach Hans Backe at Notts, is set to make the move to the MLS.

Rodgers has been linked with New York for some time now but a move looked unlikely as he was experiencing difficulty in obtaining a work permit due to legal reasons.

The Birmingham native has been arrested twice for assault in the past eight years making a working visa abroad hard to come by but these latest reports indicate things may have been sorted in that regard.
