North Queensland players unaware of starting positions

North Queensland Fury’s Robbie Middleby admits he and his teammates have no idea of where they will line-up in the club’s first ever A-League match.

The Fury take on Sydney FC this weekend in round one and Middleby expects there to be some surprises in the starting eleven.

''We probably don't even know as well,'' he said.

''We've got a few injuries and there might be a few surprises with the starting line-up but everyone is fighting and vying for those positions.

''It's an honour to go out and play for the first game for the North Queensland Fury.''

Middleby added that all players on the squad were working hard to get themselves a spot in the inaugural starting team, which was a great thing for the club.

''The players that are out here at the moment and vying for these spots that are available have got to take their opportunity and make it hard for the players with injury to get back in,'' Middleby added.

''That is healthy for a team, I think, to fight for positions like that.''
