North Queensland Fury coach Ian Ferguson will aim to keep Melbourne Victory’s strikers quiet on Saturday evening.

The Fury host the reigning champions and Ferguson is targeting Archie Thompson and Danny Allsopp as the men to stop.

"The Central Coast Mariners did it," he said.

"Even though they (Melborne) played them at their own ground, nobody gave them (the Mariners) a chance.

"But what the Mariners did was squeeze them and make it hard for them to get through them and hopefully we are going to try and do the same.

"Hopefully as I said you don't give good players time on the ball and don't give them space because they can hurt you."

Ferguson has called the changes after the Fury were defeated 5-0 by Gold Coast United last week, bringing in Chris Tadrosse, Dyron Daal and James Robinson for Beau Busch, Jack Hingert and Kojiro Kaimoto.
