North Queensland Fury’s Cernak to become Melbourne Victory player next season
North Queensland Fury winger Isaka Cernak will become a Melbourne Victory player from next season after signing a two-year deal with the club.
The promising 21-year old, an Australian representative at both U20 and U23 levels, will officially join the Victory in April next year and is looking forward to the opportunity although he is completely committed to the Fury for the remainder of the 2010/11 season.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for me to be joining a club like Melbourne Victory, but my focus for the rest of the season is with the Fury and making sure we get ourselves into the top-6 and take part in the finals for the first time,” he said.
“I’m very grateful to everyone at North Queensland for showing faith in me, they gave me a chance to play regular football and that’s why it was such a difficult decision.
“Like any young footballer, I have ambitions of playing overseas one day and the prospect of AFC Champions League football with Victory was too good to refuse.”
