North Queensland Fury chief takes a shot at Perth Glory

North Queensland Fury CEO Rabieh Krayem has taken a shot at this Friday’s opponents the Perth Glory.

Reports have emerged that the Glory had opened discussions with five Fury players (Mark Hughes, Dyron Daal, Eric Akoto, Chris Payne and Isaka Cernak) in regards to joining them.

Krayem suggested that the Glory were not travelling very well if they were hellbent on poaching his players and his comments will certainly fuel the fire for this weekend’s clash in Townsville.

"I'm not sure how many players they have got off contract, but let me tell you, they're looking for a lot more, I'm sure, which is surprising considering the glamour side that they have got,” he told the Townsville Bulletin.

"They were touted as premiership front runners ... and we're nine games in and they're out on the recruitment trail.

"I'm sure that we will welcome them into North Queensland this week ... and I'm sure when we get a result this week it will leave them saying 'that's why we're chasing (their) players.

"It's a compliment to the coach and the club," he added.

"But once we get in that position (to negotiate) we won't lose a player that we want to keep.

"I'm confident that if a player gets approached by a club and they're made an offer, that they would talk to us about it first but that hasn't happened as of yet."
