North Queensland Fury announce Talay as captain

North Queensland Fury have installed Ufuk Talay as its new captain.

The 34-year old midfielder will take over from former Liverpool star Robbie Fowler who has joined Perth Glory and Fury’s new football operations manager Robbie Middleby, who also captained the side last season.

Talay has a wealth of experience with Australian football after stints with Marconi-Fairfield back in the early 1990s and more recently with Sydney FC and the Fury.

He has also spent plenty of time in Turkey with the likes of Galatasaray, Antalyaspor and Bursaspor and in Japan with Avispa Fukuoka.
