North Queensland Fury’s Ferguson: Fowler coaching link is rubbish
North Queensland Fury coach Ian Ferguson has rubbished claims that marquee player Robbie Fowler is about to take over as coach.
Reports earlier today suggested that the former Liverpool star had offered to take a pay cut of $200,000 and also become playing-coach as the club experiences financial troubles.
With the news that Ferguson had agreed in principle to join the Perth Glory as assistant coach, the rumours suggested that a coaching takeover would occur but the Scot has poured water over the claims.
“I don't want to comment because there's been so much rubbish written about this club," he told au.fourfourtwo.com.
"I'm not going to say anything other than I've got a three year contract and I've got two years left on it."
