North Queensland Fury’s Edds: We are ready to be physical
North Queensland Fury midfielder Gareth Edds says the players are ready to be physical against the Melbourne Victory this weekend.
So far, the Fury have played an exciting and entertaining brand of football in their opening two matches but Edds knows that they need to instil a bit of hardness to become serious contenders this season.
“We know how to mix it as well, we are not here to be soft," Edds told the Townsville Bulletin.
“You have to get in there and rough a few people up and battle away in the game.
"It's not our tactic that we go out there and kick them, but we'll play our game."
The Fury meet the Victory at AAMI Park this Sunday with the two-time A-League champions sitting on the bottom of the table and Edds is aware that they can go into the match with nothing to lose.
"We can go there and all the pressure is going to be on them," he said.
