EXCLUSIVE: With ex-Manchester United midfielder Terry Cooke

Hello terry if your reading this. Remember me! Ur old pal Wez. Glad to read ur doing well. Fond memories of ur time at united - going out to the barton arms and the bluebell in monton in about 95/96. Partying in town with john o'kane and appey, And a few trips down to birmingham to see ur family. I saw daz a few years back in spain also. Crazy how we've both ended up in the same parts of the world. I was just down the road from you living in tucson, arizona, usa and now I'm living on the gold coast in oz. Anyway hope your well. All the best and keep doing what u do best....ur friend always, wez.

I used to watch Terry regularly when he was playing for the reserves at United and thought he would go on to great things. Unfortunately injuries and bad luck meant that was not quite the case but I'm glad to see he's had a long career that most of us could only dream of.

He's wrong about being only the third player in history to be transfered between the two Manchester clubs though. There were eight players who did so before the great Billy Meredith crossed sides in 1906 along with three of his team-mates from City (Burgess, Bannister and 1909 FA Cup final hero Sandy Turnbull). There were then the likes of Wyn Davies, Peter Bodak, John Gidman, Peter Barnes etc. In fact he should be able to remember Tony Coton making the switch during his time at United.
