Villa fullback Young: Dunne has been massive for us this season

Aston Villa fullback Luke Young has hailed the influence of Richard Dunne since his August arrival.

Young says former Manchester City captain Dunne has filled the void left by the retirement of Martin Laursen.

"Talking of Dunney, he's been fantastic. Again, he was a rock at the back," Young told Villa's website.

"He has played a massive part in our success. He has come to the club and settled in really well. He has been pretty much fantastic in every game he's played.

"He's an old fashioned centre-half, the ball's like a magnet with him, it's a bit like Martin Laursen when he used to play.

"The ball always seems to land near him or he's always there at the right place at the right time. He's always there heading it away for us.

"Overall in the match, it was a good point. It's a difficult place to go to. When Tottenham are on song, they are difficult to get anything from."
