Juventus midfielder Tiago wants Atletico Madrid stay

Juventus midfielder Tiago Mendes wants to make his loan stay with Atletico Madrid into a permanent transfer.

The former Chelsea star was a big disappointment at Juve and the Bianconeri have tried to offload him on several occasions.

“It is nice to have the trust of the manager,” said Tiago.

“I am playing a lot and this is always a positive thing.

“It is a bit early to talk about the future but I would like to stay here. This is a young team and I can contribute a bit of experience.”

Atletico have had a woeful season so far but they can still rescue it according to Tiago.

“We are still in a with a great challenge for the Copa del Rey and we also want to go far in Europe.

“It will also be important to qualify to the Europa League at the end of the season. That's why our draw with Santander was a good score.”
