Sydney captain Corica tipped to retire
Reports are suggesting that Sydney FC veteran Steve Corica is set to announce his retirement.
The skipper and midfielder of the Sky Blues is in his 21st season of professional football after starting his career in 1990 with Marconi Stallions in the old National Soccer League but it is expected that he will pull the pin on a wonderful career on the eve of the Round 27 blockbuster with Melbourne Victory.
If reports are correct, it will be the last guaranteed chance for Sydney fans to watch him play against the Victory this Sunday but will not be his last match for the club as he is expected to kick on for the finals series.
Corica’s career has seen him enjoy stints with English clubs Leciester City, Wolves and Walsall as well as Japanese outfit Sanfrecce Hiroshima before he joined Sydney in 2005.
