Hull veteran Boateng: Blame me for Chelsea equaliser
Hull City midfielder George Boateng says they deserved their point against Chelsea.
The game finished 1-1, with Steven Mouyokolo scoring for City and Didier Drogba replying for Chelsea, and Boateng was pleased his side got some reward for their efforts.
"It was a good, hard-fought point," Boateng told Hull's website.
"Our draw against Wolves at the weekend made this game more important. We started really well and we deserved to go one-nil up.
"In the end, it took another wonderful free kick from Didier Drogba for them to equalise. I was disappointed to concede the free kick (myself). When Anelka had the ball, I felt I had to foul him because he was getting into the box and we wouldn't have been able to touch him had he got in there.
"It was an instinctive decision and it was costly in a way because we have given two points away. But, when you play a top four team and you get a point, I think you should be happy.
"We should be the happier of the two teams."
