I am a big fan of Kaka. That being said, what was said by Queca is spot on. A player like Xavi, much like a player like Pirlo, will never win the Ballon d'Or. There have been many greats who have not won it, Paolo Maldini and, to remind the Madrid fans, Raul. Can you say Kaka is better than them? There is a certain profile of Ballon d'Or winners in general. As far as Kaka being talentless because he cannot dribble, I would only point to Denilson and ask you if he is a great player because he can dribble like crazy? Dribbling is one good skill, passing and OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT (which surprisingly few people even notice) are different and as important and Kaka is very good at them. Zidane was a very good dribbler but there are people who could beat him at it. No one could beat him at his vision and reading of the game and that is what made him great.
Why cant you handle the truth? Its not my fault if RM or Caca suck, I like it though. Blame the ***** who are running RM and their scouting skills, before that expect more bad decisions from them. I said that Xavi is better than Kaka now, and nobody can deny that. Xavi has been a top player since 1998 so he cant be that bad, now he is the best player in his position, even better than his future teammate Cesc Fabregas. Even as a Barca fan, I must admit the great quality of Kaká. He is a class player both on and off the pitch. As for his recent form, I agree that it will take some time to adjust...
That said, to those trying to trash Xavi:
- Yes, Kaká has a Ballon d'Or; however, he was a goal-scorer in Milan. Individual awards always favors goal scores. Xavi has never been a goal scorer, yet he dictates play through the midfield and is largely responsible for the success on both club and international teams.
- Yes, Xavi is getting older, but he still managed a third place finish in both the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year voting (beating out a younger Kaká in both).
- If you hadn't heard of him before, that's because he's not a showy player. Xavi played his whole career with Barca (no huge transfer headlines), he never demanded a huge salary (almost half of Kaká's), he's not a huge scorer (no padded stats), and he isn't someone who will beat you one-on-one (no dribbling highlights)... that said, he is one of the best midfield generals this game will ever see.
- Xavi is deadly against Madrid. When Barca beat Madrid 6-2 last May, Xavi had 4 assists. I can understand why some Madrid fans are bitter...
