Quality story, quality comments.... Can't wait to think about them as we face Chelsea, Man Utd & Arsenal next season. Your all going to love Scunthorpe away you massive massive club you.
Sorry but Leeds bigger than Newcastle? There is a whole division seperating the 2 teams, i'm guessing clarke is saying that Leeds have won more in their history and I would agree with that but at the moment Newcastle are a team on their way back to the Premier League and Leeds are slowly trying to regain their stature as a top club but you're in League 1, Beckford wants to play at the club who are currently bigger and better and have higher wage offers. Beckford isn't gonna give a crap about how leeds were good about 20 years ago!
While there was no need for Clarke to say it it's true. Newcastle have zero profile outside of the north east wastelands and the fans use football as just a badge. No serious supporter would put up with their complete lack of success and apoint that brush headed bottler keegan twice. No real football knowledge or heritage just an effective way of wasting dole money, a tradition handed down through the generations.
Small city, little knowledge, shorter skirts.
Sniffer. You never cease to amaze me. Your prediction about Beckford. Spot On. Keep it up Sniffer.

History boys, HISTORY! Global Brand - still, even though we've dropped down to League One. That's why you always buy our cast-offs.
As a Felllow Geordie.....Newcastle are a smaller football club than Leeds United, FACT, Leeds are huge overseas etc... . Newcastle has got alot more slappers though.
as a leeds fan i think both clubs are huge clubs but as it stands i would say for the last 10-15 years newcatsle have been bigger then us, bigger stadium bigger crowds, larger support, more money roughly the same history.i dont agree with sniffers comments as although i would love to keep beckford, it was always going to happen when newcastle csame calling weve been there feeder club the last 6 or 7 years
well, ive read and digested all these comments from both parties!! As a life long leeds fan who goes to gods footy ground week in week out!! A lot of the comments are true, why dont we fill ER every week? cos we in a league where we cant!! the prices are too high, the standard of team for us to watch too low!! pappa smurf has no idea!! promises us one thing the destroys our hopes the day after (delph!!!) nufc may have more support for the moment but how long will it last!!! u go down the support goes down (prem 52000 avg! champ 44000 avg!!) youve lost 8k already!! (and one comment said we took 7k to barnsley!! half the grounds we go to dont hold 7k and when we do go we fill half the ground with our allocation!!) All im interested in is getting out of the cheap n nasty cola league n up the dizzy heights of the fizzy pop league!!! ER will then start to fill up a regular basis and when the ground does get extended (50k) we will be up there with the best of them!!!
you may have bigger attendances but you are a well supported club with little history trophys and fan base make a big club you have the fans but the 50 plus years without a trophy fail to convince me you are bigger than us
