DC United release Janicki and Allen

DC United have waived the contracts of defender Greg Janicki and midfielder Ely Allen, it was announced this week.

25-year old Janicki joined DC in December 2008 from Pittsburgh in USL’s second division and played mainly in the club’s US Open Cup run and the CONCACAF Champions League.

23-year old Allen joined the club half-way through the year and did not feature in any league games but made three appearances in the Champions League.
