Tottenham to include Hutton in bid for West Ham defender Upson

Tottenham are set to make a swap offer for West Ham United defender Matthew Upson.

The People says Tottenham are lining up a £10million move for Upson, with Alan Hutton going the other way.

With uncertainty surrounding the long-term future of Ledley King, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to attract another experienced defender.

West Ham are facing financial difficulties and Upson would be a favourite to leave Upton Park following superb displays which have seen him cement his place in the England squad.

Hutton, 25 tomorrow, has fallen way down the pecking order at Tottenham and struggles to find a way past Vedran Corluka or Kyle Naughton. The Scottish international is keen to get his career back on track and would favour a move to West Ham because he would not have to move house.
