Song signs new deal with Arsenal
Arsenal have confirmed that Alex Song has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 22-year-old joined Arsenal in 2006 from Bastia, and has since played nearly 50 games for the club.
Boss Arsene Wenger is a big fan of the Cameroon international and has now rewarded his progress with a new long-term deal.
Song is the third Arsenal player in the space of a week to agree a new deal, following on from Eduardo and Sanchez Watt.
Arsene Wenger actually announced the move on Tuesday night following the 2-0 Champions League win over Standard Liege, but it was only confirmed on Wednesday in a statement on the club's website.
"As confirmed on Tuesday night in Arsene Wenger's post-match press conference, Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Alex Song has signed a new long-term contract with the club," the statement said.
