Denis Hamlett has lost his job as head coach of MLS club Chicago Fire.
Hamlett took the Fire to the Eastern Conference finals in both seasons he was at the helm but his contract expires at the end of this year and club management are keen to go in a different direction moving forward.
The 40-yeard old Costa Rican joined Chicago in 1998 as an assistant and remained at the club until he was appointed head coach in 2008.
Despite reaching the play-offs again and competing in the final of the SuperLiga, Hamlett and the Fire have officially parted ways.
