PSV coach Rutten backing Liverpool, Spurs target Van Nistelrooy to make big transfer impact

PSV Eindhoven coach Fred Rutten says Ruud van Nistelrooy will be a great signing for any club.

Rutten knows Van Nistelrooy is ready to quit Real Madrid in January, but has ruled out PSV as a destination due to his wage demands.

The PSV coach, however, does admit: "We're not considering him because financially it isn't something we can look at.

"But Van Nistelrooy would add value to any team. The drive inside him to get to the World Cup is a very interesting factor."

The former Manchester United striker has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham this week.
