Cheap Labour! You American Jack Ass. It actually costs more to make a product in Canada - the diffrence between us and you ignorant shits is that we do it right the first time. Buy American = Buy crap! Get our own league? It took David B and the success of TFC for you to keep MLS going The toughest question to ask an american... you need to choose between health care insurance and a piece of shit american built Cadi. I'll take the tent and the Cadi please or better yet can I finance my mortgage over 75 years so me and Ma can go to disney world!
Go fuck yourself they played in the same arena as the Saint Louis Blues. You are a pure douche bag. You fucking Canadians are only go for cheap labor nothing else a step above Mexico. You guys should get your own league

"we had an average 30,000 a game for indoor soocer" I doubt the rink sat more than 18,000. And it SOCCER.
You sir are the soccer version of Sarah Pallin. Everything you say is bullshit. Why don't you try that again? How about 3 million a game for indoor soccer. Women's soccer? You must be joking! JOKING. Lets see how this NASL expansion team does in terms of attendance over a few years. FILL THE SEATS.
The only way St Louis may get a team is if KC moves.
Mr. Speed,
No Saint Louis did not host any WC of the men's or women's games. The stadium we have need expanding, but in the past we have hosted international friendlies and we did host the final of the women's league. We had a USL Developmental team until the league folded. Yes the Steamers back in the 80's and early 90's we had an average 30,000 a game for indoor soocer. I'm not saying forget Montreal for 2012, maybe just add Saint Louis but yes I'd rather have a team in Saint Louis. Check your facts Saint Louis is not way down in the list we placed 2nd to Philly, then took 3rd to Portland and Van. Yes our team is creating a league right now which your Impact will be in. What has Montreal done to deserve a team besides fans showing up to a few days? The MLS was created to give US players a chance to develop to be more competive at the international level. I know you want to make your points but stick to the facts buddy.

Saint Louis? Did that city host a WC game? Even a women's WC game when the WC was held in the USA? How well did the Saint Louis Pro soccer team draw over the last 15 years?
Oh they don't have a men's outdoor team. Well if you count the Steamers. Are they still around? It's not about making the World Cup or developing local talent. It's about BUMS in seats. Something Saint Louis has never been able to pull off in the last 100 years.
Saint Louis is WAY down the list of potential MLS cities. Tell you what get a USL or NASL team (as of today) and build.
And maybe when you're drawing 14,000 a game like they have in Montreal for the last 4 years, someone will take Saint Louis seriously.
"Growing" bitch do you even know anything about Saint Louis! Yes I know a team in Canada is deserved since you guys go to every World Cup... Oh wait you guys can't even make the hex. We need to forget about expanding in Canada. They can't even hold on to their hockey teams why would MLS think they can support their soccer teams. I would rather see a team in Saint Louis, Miami, or a second New York team, there are enough MLS clubs in Canada. Although it is great you can get a few people to you champions league match that is not enough.
That is pure crap. Saint Louis has always been a hotbed for soccer dating back to the first World Cup. Even look at the stats of Saint Louis University (SLU). Saint Louis has produced names as Brian McBride, Pat Noonan, Taylor Twellman, Mike Sorber, Frank Simek and Steve Ralson just to name a few. Soccer is in Saint Louis blood. Right now the owner of Saint Louis Soccer Club Jeff Cooper is creating his own league so that MLS will notice him and your Montreal Impact are joining it. I agree Saint Louis should have been a team before KC, but here in the mid-west there are more heat between KC, StL, and Chicago that could bring great heated matches that fans will love to watch. MLS will make more profit in Saint Louis than in Montreal. It is the number one sport in Saint Louis and look at our support for baseball and hockey(not that it compares to Montreal), but we can support a team and do it well.
Montreal is a better option than St Louis. Sorry. KC Wizards can only get 10,000 to their games, while Montreal can get 70,000 to theirs in the Champions League. MLS needs clubs which can make major impact like Sounders FC. The time for 'growing' an audience is over, they can't take the chance that St Louis people will support a MLS franchise. At least in Montreal they know they will get that support, just like with Vancouver.

There is a soccer hotbed in Saint Louis with very passionate fans. MLS needs to stop overlooking Saint Louis. It would also create rivalries with both K.C. Wizards and the Chicago Fire. AB has given the Saint Louis United group Busch Soccer Park which needs some help, but the Saint Louis Athletica already play, don't get me wrong it needs to be expanded. Saint Louis needs to quit being overlooked.

Is someone ever going to ask Garber what happened last time with Montreal?
He claimed they pulled out while Montreal says they never did.
Montreal said they werent willing to shell out 40million dollar which by the way is NOT how much portland ending up paying (it was either 33 or 35million they put up) so that was the smart thing to do. Saputo didnt make money by being saps (of course, some paisan muscle helped build the empire which is why they couldnt expand to either VT or Penn in the 80's... you know... their connections).
Seems like its a pretty big difference in opinion as to what happened.
Luckily for Garber, no reporter cared enough to find out the truth.
“We hope to have a 19th team in the league by 2012 and Montreal is still the leading candidate. But we have got some work to do, most importantly, that stadium needs to be renovated and expanded."
Again, everything that comes out of Garbers mouth is a lie or he is clueless (did he really claim not to know the Vancouver stadium situation).
The Montreal stadium opened 1-2 years ago, why the hell would they need to renovate it?
You renovate something old and decrepit... like where Vancouver will be playing while their stadium issues are dealt with.
Expanding the stadium in the 20 thousands range in Montreal was always contingent on receive a franchise so this is not a problem (especially since its a cheap stadium, basically stands on one side held on metal pilons with nothing underneath).
