Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc is a favourite of Birmingham City owner Carsen Yeung.

The News of the World says Yeung is ready to commit £40million on transfers but is not convinced current boss Alex McLeish is the right man to spend it.

Credible draws against Manchester City and Liverpool have helped the Scottish manager's cause but uncertainty in the boardroom still hangs over McLeish.

Yeung has his own thoughts on the situation and would be tempted if a coach of Blanc's standing came on the market.
