Sterjovski confident of start against Central Coast
Perth Glory striker Mile Sterjovksi is confident he will overcome a stomach bug to start against the Central Coast Mariners on Friday night.
The Australian international came on at half-time of the Glory’s 2-0 win over Sydney FC yesterday and looked in good touch despite training just once last week and he believes he will be 100 percent for the trip to Gosford in round 16.
"I'm pretty confident I'll be able to (play 90 minutes)," he said.
"It's a difficult turnaround. Travelling that far only five days apart, I think the scheduling could've been better for us. But we have to deal with that and I'm sure we'll put in a good performance.
“I had a pretty rough week but I started to come good Thursday and I got the energy levels up. I was fortunate enough to be in the squad in the end."
Sterjovksi said it was vitally important for the Glory to get a positive result after missing out on points in recent weeks.
"To win that and to be back in it now, hopefully we can get a few more wins on the trot and be right up there," he added.
