Seattle Sounders coach Sigi Schmid is in hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
The 56-year old was taken to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue after experiencing shortness of breath on Thursday night.
Schmid’s condition is now stable but he will remain under care until Saturday said Sounders officials.
Schmid led the expansion club to the MLS play-offs in just their first season, just a year after leading Columbus Crew to the MLS Cup.
