Stoke striker Kitson rules out Middlesbrough stay
Stoke City striker Dave Kitson has no plans of signing permanently with Middlesbrough.
The on-loan Stoke star had admitted he will only stay at the Riverside Stadium for six weeks and isn’t interested in a permanent deal.
Kitson said: “It’s an opportunity to play half-a-dozen games to get my match fitness back up and get back to Stoke to try and force my way back in there.
“Am I flexible on the stay? No. Not really. It’s six weeks and I’ll try 100 per cent to do my very, very best to leave them in a good situation but I signed a contract at Stoke and my aim’s to get back in that first team. I thought I’d done it at the start of the season and I’ll try and do it again.
“There are reasons now why a permanent deal would be very very difficult. It would affect more people than me and that’s not fair. My family’s carved out its own life away from football. My wife has a very good job in London, she’s worked really hard to get and it wouldn’t be fair for her to leave at this stage.
“That’s just how it is but this would be a fantastic club to come to but my ties are such that it would make it difficult if not unfair to come for more than six weeks.
“I’ve heard good things about the manager here and everyone speaks very highly of him. He works the lads hard in training and it’s a good standard and enjoyable.”
