Owen insists he has no Man Utd regrets
Michael Owen insists he's happy with his lot at Manchester United.
Owen has yet to gain an England recall and although he was handed a starting berth against Everton today he has still only started seven of a possible 20 competitive games and couldn't find the net against his boyhood idols.
However, that has not left Owen regretting joining the Reds, far from it.
“I have played in a team that was struggling and I much prefer life at a winning club, even if that means I don't play every minute of every game,” Owen said.
“I am here at a club that is full of quality, training with top players every day and working under a top manager.
“I have had my fair share of starts and minutes on the pitch this season, so I am not about to complain.”
In fact, Owen likens it to his short stint at Real Madrid, where he made a positive impact from the bench.
“In Madrid it was a similar story,” said the 29-year-old. “I didn't start every game but I ended up with the best goals-to-minutes ratio in the league.
“You can twist stats any way you want, all I am concerned about is scoring as many goals as I can.”
