Player strike considered over Lazio treatment of Pandev

The Italian Players' Association has threatened a strike over Goran Pandev's deteriorating situation at Lazio.

The Macedonian has not played all season for his club after demanding a transfer in the summer and failing to find a side willing to meet the asking price.

“The AIC [Players’ Association] has called a state of emergency after the repeated postponement of a new judge for the Pandev case,” read a statement.

“President Sergio Campana, considering the lack of effort promised by Lega Calcio President Mario Beretta, lets it be known that if by November 23 there is no timetable laid out for the Pandev case, there will be an emergency meeting to decide on the best action to take.”

The matter could even go as far as a strike from the Players’ Association.
